Description

Bring the family and join the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, the Cedar Rapids Downtown District, ConnectCR, the City of Cedar Rapids and American Discovery Trail representatives this Saturday for a special community celebration in Greene Square from 4-5 pm! Cedar Rapids is an official Welcome Station for the American Discovery Trail Coast-to-Coast Relay, a journey carrying three symbolic batons — Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness — from the West Coast across the country.

Come out to watch the ceremonial baton hand-off to Mayor O'Donnell and enjoy a free, family-friendly celebration featuring the Lily Pad Princess and Mr. Shucks from the Cedar Rapids Kernels, along with activities and experiences from Bloomsbury Farm, Coca-Cola Atlantic Bottling, The Crazy Yarn Lady, Northtowne Cycling + Fitness, Revival Theatre and others. Nearby restaurants and businesses will also offer promotions after the celebration.

Gather your family and friends, enjoy an afternoon in downtown Cedar Rapids and help us give the American Discovery Trail relay a warm welcome as the batons continue their journey across America!
